This guy who likes to feel up little girls is sitting pretty. Once he screws up the economy, he has not one, but two speeches to plagiarize from. The birthday boy Jimmy Carter talked about the “malaise” and how we were just going to have to get used to lower growth (while having gifted the U.S. 20% interest rates).
A couple decades later The Messiah made virtually the same speech also while having screwed up the economy. I imagine FDR made a similar speech after failing miserably to fix the economy which Ike ended up fixing.
It would be interesting to look at a graphic of GDP activity comparing end points of Dem and Republican records during the 100 years between Woodrow Wilson (a Progressive) and Trump, all while stating the above about the malaise numbers which the Dems think are just swell.
