Two GOP Senators Test Positive For Covid-19, Potentially Jeopardizing Barrett Confirmation Vote
CNN ^ | October 3, 2020

Two Republican senators on the Senate Judiciary Committee announced Friday that they had tested positive for Covid-19, potentially jeopardizing the GOP's hopes of swiftly confirming Judge Amy Coney Barrett to the Supreme Court if they were both to remain unable to vote in the full Senate through the end of the month.

Sens. Mike Lee of Utah and Thom Tillis of North Carolina announced they'd tested positive -- just days after attending a White House event where President Donald Trump nominated Barrett. Multiple attendees of that event, including Trump, have tested positive in the week since the ceremony, which featured many people not wearing masks and not observing social distancing protocols.

A few years ago I would call my suspicion a conspiracy. The last several years have taught me not to be shocked by anything.

Nonsense.
They are both self quarantining for 10 days. The Judicial Committee hearings don't even begin till October 12. Committee voting is not till October 22, long after they have come out of quarantine.
Sorry CNN. You lose again.

Who knew a virus had a party affiliation? Apparently it does.

If everybody recovers in 10 days, the covid panic will be discredited and republicans will win across the board. It’s just the flu.

If there are procedural votes in committee the lack of two members could be an issue.

Surprise, surprise! Two of the Senate's biggest RINOs.

There are no coincidences.

In fact both Mike Lee and Tillis are asymptomatic. Both are feeling great at the moment. They are only self quarantining as a matter of caution. They will both be at the hearings from day one, in person or virtually. It won’t affect the ACB confirmation one whit.

They’ve been holding virtual hearings on everything else, there’s no reason why they can’t do it for Barrett’s confirmation hearing. She just went through it all in 2017, so there can’t be much more for them to grill her on.

Just curious. It said many people weren’t wearing masks. Were these specific people not wearing masks?

I would’ve thought all of the upper level officials and staff who have to meet with the president would’ve been tested long before this.

Yup.
Comey the creep just had a virtual hearing. If a criminal like Coney can be given a virtual hearing, why can't ACB do the same or Mike Lee or Tillis?

No, they tested positive, period. They are not going to be let anywhere near the Senate building until they are medically cleared. If they test negative, they could be cleared in time for the first day of hearings. Unfortunately, people don't always test negative within 10 days, even people who are asymptomatic. "No delay" is the best case scenario we all want, but it's not the only scenario. At this point, I hope Mitch rams through rules that allow committees to vote remotely, as there is a possibility more Senators will test positive. But there are freepers who will scream that it unconstitutional.

Masks don’t really mean sh*t.
Almost all the almost 8 million positives in the US were putting on masks when they tested positive.

People are suspecting that a super-spreading event occurred at the Rose Garden ceremony to introduce ACB. Guess who attended that ceremony? Mostly Republicans and reporters.

No conspiracy here, unless some trusted nut knew he hinself had it and showed up.
