I have read that actuarily the slightly overweight in latter ages do live longer. I am not certain if that is because those who, for example, have cancer also tend to lose weight so that it is a matter of correlation rather than causation, though a bit of extra weight is supposed to help some cancer patients or those otherwise hit with a sudden serious illness to get through situations better and longer than those without any excess stores.

That said, Trump maybe pushes that a bit when it comes to getting into a higher risk Covid category.
