The Border Patrol stressed all the structures served a purpose - providing a basis for the current design being implemented throughout the U.S.-Mexico border.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) constructed eight different wall prototypes to be assessed and evaluated for performance, constructability, and deployability to satisfy the U.S. Border Patrols (USBP) operational requirements. At the conclusion of the testing and evaluation, the information gathered enabled USBP to select attributes which have been incorporated into the border barrier toolkit and may be applied to future construction project designs. Because this location is where CBP is constructing Secondary wall, the prototypes were demolished. The Contractor is still working this project and all of the concrete will be removed before construction is completed. Much of the concrete will be crushed and reused for road base.
The rubble now sits on state-owned property that will be turned into a new port of entry in the San Diego/Tijuana region.

Now those prototypes have been demolished, and an awesome double run of mighty bollards now secures that stretch of border, like never before.
Below, Mexicans viewed the prototypes over the old single barrier, made of Vietnam-era landing mats. Not hard to hop over...
Now the prototypes are just a heap of rubble, but in their place, two towering runs of mighty tall bollards secure that border, with the space between them totally owned by the Border Patrol. The Primary Barrier (the first encountered, coming from Mexico) can be seen in the distance, between the slats of the 30 foot tall Secondary Barrier - what a dramatic improvement!
New Bollards vs. the old landing mat (all of which have since been replaced in San Diego). The new barrier is obviously an order of magnitude better, but the clearing of an Enforcement Zone, better roads, lights, cameras, alarms and sensors are similarly dramatic upgrades.
Were they supposed to become shrines?
Cool pics. Thanks for posting.
Trumps wall is a world wide tourist attraction. Its magnificent! I wish everyone could see what the border looked like before Trump so they could get the full impact and significance of this project. This project is a monument to every man that does what he says and a b***h slapping rebuke to every political ho that said it couldnt be done.
Very nice! Thank you for posting those pictures. The last one is my favorite.
Brightly lit with stadium lighting, completely covered by powerful cameras which are constantly monitored by unblinking artificial intelligence software - every footfall or tunneling activity can be detected seismically. High speed, all weather roads will allow Border Patrol to swoop in on any infiltrators, who will be forced to leave their vehicles, ladders and large tools behind the first barrier. It's a trap!
And 341 miles currently done!

Ship at least one truckload of the rubble to the Coulter residence...
I wonder if any left tart understands what a prototypes is.
Should have preserved the prototypes, or partial sections, for the eventual Trump Presidential Library...
