Joe Biden’s OTHER Questionable Chinese Concern and Involvement - Hollywood
Townhall.com ^ | October 2, 2020 | Brad Slager

In his novel ‘’World War Z,’’ author Max Brooks has a telling plot development early on, where the global scourge of a zombie virus originated in China, with that nation covering up the outbreak. It serves as a telling precursor to this year’s Covid-19 global pandemic, but it is a prescient plot development that audiences who watched the film version of the story never saw. In the film adaptation, with Brad Pitt in the lead role, the zombie pandemic was originating in Russia. This was a conscious script alteration, one made specifically with appeasement of Chinese entertainment authorities.

Hollywood has been on a regular quest to gain entry into the Chinese movie industry. The booming expansion of theaters, production facilities, and audience interest has American studios salivating, but there is not an easy pathway into this marketplace. The Chinese Communist government understands the importance of politics being downstream of culture and in the process has a deep involvement in its own entertainment development. The Chi-Coms provide incentives to developers to build more theaters throughout the country as they rule over motion picture content with an iron fist.

This desire to provide its citizens with a heavily agitprop-tinted entertainment landscape means that a tight control over its allowed content from Hollywood is in place and American companies -- so desperate for the swelling tide of Chinese revenues -- have been willing to subjugate themselves and to actually alter our own American culture, in an effort to appease and win approval. The studios have literally traded off their own content in exchange for access, and Joe Biden is given a large dose of credit for this.

YUAN MAN FOR THE JOB

Consider briefly the charges of dangerous fealty the media love to accuse the president as having with regards to Russia. We are routinely told that President Trump is beholden to Vlad Putin, that the Russian leader has Trump in his back pocket, that financial interests take priority over national security, and that Putin effectively runs the White House. Put those accusations in your back pocket for now.

At a conference held in 2014 for the Motion Picture Association of America some interesting comments were made by former Washington D.C. fixture, Christopher Dodd. The 30-year senator left The Swamp to become the president of the MPAA, a position not too dissimilar from a commissioner in professional sports; while they are a figurehead representing team owners Dodd is in the role of being the lead voice for movie studios. Dodd was introducing then Vice President Joe Biden, to address the MPAA regarding intellectual property protections, a key issue for studios.

In his opening statement about Biden he said this: ‘’When we saw the changes that occurred in our relationship that changed, on the issue of quotas -- with those that follow the issue, with China -- they went from 20, to 34.’’ What Dodd is referring to there is the control the Chi-Coms hold over their movie industry and the limitations placed on Hollywood films released on the Mainland. Currently there are no more than 34 titles from Hollywood permitted to be released in China in a given year. Another limitation is that unlike other foreign territories -- where the average box office take for studios is around 40% - in China studios are only entitled to collect 25% of the ticket sales. But those figures had originally been lower.

In mentioning this increase on the Chinese side of exhibitor participation Dodd said, ‘’There were a lot of people who contributed to that, no one -- ABSOLUTELY NO ONE -- made as much of a difference in the outcome of that negotiation than the Vice President of the United States.’’ This was Dodd referencing the work that Joe Biden had done in negotiating better terms for Hollywood in China, something Biden mentions in his address as he referred to a luncheon held in Los Angeles in February, 2012.

‘’By the end of that lunch we had a handshake. It wasn’t massive, but it did grow access for American films,’’ said the Vice President. ‘’The next year the number of blockbuster foreign films showing in China is increased by over half, and our share of the box office revenue has doubled.’’ The hand that Biden shook belonged to Xi Jinping, the current leader of that nation. Try to imagine the press reaction had this been Donald Trump who brokered such a deal with Vladimir Putin.

That meeting with Chinese dignitaries was part of a five-day diplomatic visit during which numerous studio heads were also in attendance, including Jeffery Katzenberg, who served as the middle initial in Dreamworks SKG. By the end of the Chinese trip it was announced that an agreement had been reached to create a new China-based division, Oriental Dreamworks. The announced deal would be in conjunction with other production companies in China, a joint venture priced out to $330 million.

Since this deal other studios have entered into Chinese production partnerships, with China learning how to create movies and shows from U.S. experience while mandating the approved content. This is more lucrative because not only is this a way for an American studio to produce content in the mainland, it also benefits movie releases. If a film is considered a joint-production that title then is not held in the 34 film quota, and the studio is entitled to a greater box office cut, usually over 40%.

It was with little surprise that as the Democratic Party chose Biden as its figurehead that Katzenberg would be a frequent bundler for the candidate. Recently the studio head, along with George Clooney, raised $7 million for the Biden campaign.

They also tell us that Donald Trump is a dictator yet somehow Hollywood doesn’t spew his propaganda as they did Obama’s propaganda in tv shows (as paid by the Obama administration).

Hollywood is trying to sell our country out to other nations, too. Thanks to Mr. Slager for bringing attention to the matter.

Biden Center Under Investigation for Illegal Donations From China
DB Daily Update | David Blackmon Posted on 5/25/2020, 9:19:56 AM by EyesOfTX

If the label says “Biden,” it was definitely influenced by China. – John Solomon at JustTheNews.com is reporting that The National Legal and Policy Center has asked the U.S. Department of Education to investigate its findings that the University of Pennsylvania (Penn) has over the past several years accepted more than $22 million in anonymous China-originated donations to its Biden Center and failed to properly disclose the contributions. >{? From Solomon’s report: The complaint, filed by the National Legal and Policy Center, says that over the past three years, the university has accepted around $22 million in anonymous funding from Chinese sources. That’s out of a total of more than $70 million from Chinese donors during that time, the NLPC said. Those significant funds, including the anonymous amounts, rolled in after the Biden Center was announced in early 2017 and launched in February 2018. The center is located in downtown Washington, D.C.

Federal records show that the University of Pennsylvania has received significant donations from China since the opening of the center. One 2018 donation alone totals $14.5 million; it is listed as “anonymous” in federal records. The NLPC alleges the university may have violated federal law in accepting those anonymous monetary donations. The Higher Education Act mandates schools report the national origins of any donations above $250,000 although not necessarily the individual names of donors themselves. [End] This serves as just one more reminder that Biden, his son and his brother have long been in the pockets of Chinese interests. The stark reality facing our country today is that, should Biden manage to win the election in November, all of the gains President Donald Trump has made through the sheer force of his will in terms of U.S./China relations and trade policy will be immediately reversed the day after Biden assumes office.

If you like the fact that virtually all U.S. antibiotics and PPE are sourced through China at some point along their supply chains and want it to stay that way, vote for Biden. Because that would be a fait accompli should he win. There are trillions of dollars at stake, and Creepy Uncle Quid Pro China Joe wants to ensure his family continues to get its fair share.

CIRCA 2011

SOURCE https://thenationalpulse.com/news/biden-video-ccp-intrusion-us-government/

DemocratJoe Biden has said he welcomes Chinese intrusion into “all levels of [U.S.] government,
classrooms, laboratories, athletic fields and boardrooms”...even the military.

The Biden comments – unearthed from a 2011 Sichuan University speech – demonstrate either a fundamental misunderstanding of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), or outright collusion with it.

The former veep stated at the time: “In order to cement this robust partnership, we have to go beyond close ties between Washington and Beijing, which we’re working on every day, go beyond it to include all levels of government, go beyond it to include classrooms and laboratories, athletic fields and boardrooms.” Biden, 77, even advocated for closer ties between the U.S. and CCP on the military front: “…that’s why it’s also important that our military leaders work together, get to know one another — not just our political leaders, but our military leaders.”

Biden takes this reckless approach to the private sector, too: “The United States should undertake to make it easier for Chinese business people to obtain visas to travel to the United States. It takes much too long for that to happen.” During the 50-minutes he spoke,

Biden expressed support for granting China increased access to high-tech U.S. products: “Already, we have made thousands of new items available for export to China for exclusive civilian use that were not available before, and tens of thousands of more items will become available very soon.

That’s a significant change in our export policy and a rejection of those voices in America that say we should not export that kind of technology to – for civilian use in – China. We disagree, and we’re changing.”

critics are right to oppose exports of this nature: they often have military applications and can end up in the hands of the CCP.

And despite his insistence in the speech trade with China “supports hundreds of thousands of jobs in America” and insists “it’s in our mutual interest in each of our countries to promote that exchange,” the nearly 4 million jobs lost in under 20 years due to China’s predatory trading practices such as currency manipulation tell a different story. China’s exports have even harmed American lives: Chinese toys are made with toxic lead paint; Chinese fish are carcinogenic due to the country’s polluted water; Chinese candy has been contaminated formaldehyde; and Chinese drywall is made with radioactive material. Biden, however, insists: “I believed in 1979 and said so and I believe now that a rising China is a positive development, not only for the people of China but for the United States and the world as a whole.” He continues: “it is in our self-interest that China continues to prosper” and retained hope “a rising China will fuel economic growth and prosperity and it will bring to the fore a new partner with whom we can meet global challenges together.”

None of this has materialized.

Even the location of Biden’s speech, the final stop of his four-day China trip of which increased ties with the country was the main takeaway, speaks volumes: Sichuan University is a CCP funded and controlled institution with former high-ranking party apparatchiks on its board. The university even utilizes “student information officers” tasked with identifying professors and peers who “show any sign of disloyalty to President Xi Jinping and the ruling Communist Party” and has a track record of intellectual property theft.

The Biden remarks are especially concerning in light of a Chinese law that stipulates: “any [Chinese] organization or [Chinese] citizen shall support, assist, and cooperate with state intelligence work in accordance with the law, and maintain the secrecy of all knowledge of state intelligence work.” IN other words, the CCP can requisition any citizen at any time in any place to assist with any goal of which surpassing the U.S. in international standing is paramount. And Joe Biden wants to facilitate China’s unrestricted access to virtually all corners of the U.S.

The dangers of inviting Chinese enterprises into all sectors of U.S. society are not purely hypothetical. Many of the “partnerships” Biden urges already exist – and at great detriment to U.S. workers, companies, and the economy as a whole. The CCP has coerced U.S. corporates to pull advertisements and products displaying Taiwan as a country independent from China and expressing support for the Hong Kong protests along with compelling the entertainment industry to frequently cut anti-CCP content.

The CCP already has a solid foothold in U.S. schools through “Confucius Institutes,” the regime’s international propaganda arm. Even teachers affiliated with the trojan horse organization have admitted it’s a smokescreen for imposing “Chinese morality and values.” And the CCP-orchestrated Thousand Talents Plan seeks to lure prominent academics a way from Western institutions and reorient their research towards granting China an upper hand technologically and scientifically.

Granting China broader access to American laboratories is also a clear and present danger. Two Chinese nationals were recently arrested for smuggling U.S. biological research, ostensibly at the request of the CCP. But this isn’t an isolated incident or confined to scientific research: intellectual property theft is China’s modus operandi with nearly one in five American companies falling victim to the predatory scheme in 2019. A study published by the US International Trade Commission the same year Biden praised China’s progress on the issue “estimated that if IP protection in just China were improved to a level comparable to that in the United States, the U.S. economy would obtain an estimated $107 billion in additional annual sales and net U.S. employment could increase by 2.1-million jobs.”

There’s not enough time between now and the 2020 election to enumerate all the abuses U.S. businesses and workers endured at the hands of the CCP. But it certainly doesn’t take much convincing to see why Biden’s approach to China would wreak havoc on U.S. companies, institutions, and national security.

Then-VP Biden toasts China's XI. "Here’s why I’m toasting this Chink. My view for many years is that a rising China is a positive development, and that the Biden family can become billionaires as long as we Democrats force American taxpayers to invest in Beijing’s success. Some anti-globalists see China’s growth as a threat, entertaining visions of a cold-war-style rivalry or great-power confrontation. Other Chinks worry that our aim in the Asia-Pacific is to contain China’s rise,” Biden wrote. “I reject these views. “I remain convinced that a successful China can make our country more prosperous, not less,” he added.

====================================================

(h/t Greenfield) shares of Ideanomics. Ideanomics is a Chinese crypto company trading as a penny stock and the software that served as collateral for the loan has been described as worthless. The chairman of Ideanomics is Wu.

The manager of DBOT-I LLC was listed as John Hynansky. The car dealer is a Biden pal with extensive Ukrainian ties who had lent Biden’s shady brother half a million dollars and had received $20 million in government loans to start a Porsche luxury car dealership in the Ukraine. Biden’s vaunted foreign policy expertise has consisted of sucking up to broker deals between Biden family members, donors, and foreign interests. These deals haven’t been good for America, but they’ve worked out very well for members of Biden's crooked family, as well as assorted donors, camp followers, and the local boys.

==================================

But Biden's biggest deal was helping broker the Chinese takeover of the American entertainment industry. Xi’s visit to Los Angeles hit on all the right cultural notes. He schmoozed Hollywood bigwigs and their errand boys, like Dodd and Biden, he watched a Lakers game, and cheered Obama’s 100,000 Strong China initiative to have a hundred thousand American students study in the Communist dictatorship.

“I can say with confidence my visit has been a full success,” Xi declared.

In China, culture serves the agenda of the Communist government. Unlike the Russians, who struggled vainly to stem the impact of American culture, their Chinese counterparts decided to control it at the source. Biden was a key figure in negotiating the terms on which the PRC would control Hollywood.

In 1962, the Manchurian Candidate depicted an effort by Communists in China, Russia, and elsewhere to kidnap and brainwash American soldiers. The modern remake replaced the Communists with a corporation and the Chinese doctor with a South African geneticist. China could not be offended. While Biden, Katzenberg, and Xi were partying at the Marriot, human rights protesters were calling for freedom, and being arrested by the henchmen of a one-party Democrat city and state for their trouble.

Even while Biden was falsely claiming that the Hollywood sellout would improve human rights in China, the rise of China was already violating human rights in America. Now, as Chinese drones fly over American cities, police stalk empty streets, social media monopolies monitor every single phone, and Democrat officials dismiss the Bill of Rights while locking up millions of people, our rights are gone.

And Joe Biden is the Manchurian Candidate who long ago sold out the country he now seeks to rule.
