1,200 Pettis County absentee ballots lost in the mail (Missouri)

SEDALIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Pettis County Clerk announced Wednesday morning about 1,200 absentee ballots were lost in the mail recently.

A post on the Pettis County Elections Office Facebook page said more ballots were sent out and voters should receive a new ballot on Wednesday.

Pettis County Clerk Nick La Strada said his office delivered the ballots to the post office on Sept. 21.

Absentee voting started in Missouri last week. County clerks in Cole and Boone counties have already received many ballots.

Some ballots were submitted on Thursday and Friday, however, La Strada said his workers received calls over the ensuing days about residents not receiving ballots.

The county clerk was told on Monday the ballots were lost.

The release said Missouri's Secretary of State advised La Strada's office to reprocess and mail out another round of ballots.

La Strada said his office worked this week to stuff another batch of about 1,200 ballots, which have since been sent out.

"We're not going to disenfranchise any voters, you are going to be able to vote," the county clerk said.

La Strada said absentee voters can still cast ballots at the county clerk's office. He added county residents can also fill out the absentee ballot and submit it in-person to the office.

The clerk said absentee voters are required to sign an affidavit that comes with the ballot for it to be counted.

According to the release, residents who receive two absentee ballots are only allowed to vote once.

I have lived in Missouri for 25 years and this is the first story I have ever heard of "absentee ballots being lost" in this state. They were delivered to the post office and apparently vanished. I am 43 years old and have had something lost by the USPS exactly ONE time. Pettis County is a conservative area as well. It's not like this is downtown St. Louis. I'm sure they will end up in the truck of a car in Flint, Michigan with 1200 votes for Biden...

1,200 ballots here, 1,200 ballots there, eventually they add up to real votes.

Sadly, all 1200 ballots were for Republicans.

However, the ballots transgendered to “Democrats” and were found in the trunk of a Democrat’s car. After the election, of course.

Yeah, and when two ballots for the same person come in, how do you tell which is the right one?

Simple if it’s a rat vote they both count if it’s a Republican vote neither count,

Did some person or group actually get the “lost” absentee ballots; will they be fraudulently used to boost the votes for someone; and will it require a court challenge to show that is what winds up taking place???

Gezze. .... What a mess. ... This is just the beginning.
As the OP said, this is a traditionally very red county. Somehow the rats have infiltrated it. .......

No problem. The “lost” ballots will show up the day after election day with 90% votes for Biden...

I am 43 years old and have had something lost by the USPS exactly ONE time.

If that something had any value, it probably wasn't really "lost".

Once I had occasion to buy some equipment from a US postal employee. I met him at his place of “work”, in the basement of the local Federal Building where the postal operations were. This guy had a rather large makeshift office built of plywood on the warehouse floor. He had over 20 years seniority and he was retired on the job (must be nice).

His day was spent inside his “office”, which had shelves and shelves of magazines with the postal address labels still on them, addressed to various people who also thought their item was "lost" in the mail. He had a small TV, microwave and hotplate, several radios, and several different hobbyist computer systems (this was about 1980, when small computing was a hobby). I wondered if everything in there was purloined from postal customers, including the computer equipment he sold me for dirt cheap.

The 2000 Presidential election was decided by exactly 300 votes. And here we see 1,200 ballots “lost” in just one county in just one relatively small state.

So Sedalia USPS lost the ballots? Not surprising after the Pettis County Health Department mandated masks in an illegal maneuver. Yes Pettis County is a Republican stronghold but there are forces working against them. Earlier this year a gal threatened to kill a Pettis County deputy and the deputy busted a cap on her. You know the story. She was an angle but the halo turned out to be rusty when the dust settled.

What does that even mean, “lost in the mail”? How do they know this? Are these outgoing ballots, or incoming ballots?

Why hasn’t the media done any stories on how the ballots are verified? I assume they have bar codes that can identify who they were sent to. In theory mail-in ballots can be done very securely and efficiently but that is not what our betters want to accomplish.

Maybe 20 year ago we did a promotion sending a free item to people who responded to an ad. Had 1000’s of responses. Along the way we started getting reports that people had received their package, but that it was empty, and that someone had cut open the package with a blade and slipped the item out, mailing only the empty envelope. One or two random events, couldn’t know whom to blame. But when we had scores and scores of the same exact complaint we knew it had to be happening from our local post office. Someone had to be slicing open the packages here and then sending the empties. We reported it to the local postmaster, of course we don’t know what was done but ultimately the problem stopped. I figure they fingered the culprit but who knows to what end, other than an end to thievery.

I saw that (deputy shooting that girl). I’m over in Boone County so we get all of the Sedalia/Marshall news over here. I’ve had about enough of these county health departments. The one here is basically a bunch of Stalinists. Thankfully, I don’t live in Columbia though so I can ignore most of their commie b.s.

They sure do!!

And I read this today regarding ballots: https://abcnews.go.com/Health/wireStory/judge-rejects-trump-challenge-montanas-mailed-ballots-73347683

The swamp is so darned deep running on both sides. It’s going to take something of biblical proportion to break it.

If they were told that they were LOST they should have an idea of WHERE THEY WERE LOST!

I’ve heard of things being “lost in the the mail” - 1200 different pieces all at once sounds like something other than “lost.”

Anyway, yet more gaslighting per Chuck Todd.
