I think Bemidji Woolen Mills (Minnesota) is probably the source of the red/black plaid. When Rick Santorum was running for President BWM made lots of red/black vests that were prominent in the campaign. When President Donald J Trump was in Bemidji 2 weeks ago the red/black was making a comeback. The owner is 3rd or 4th generation, has been a republican backer for quite some time.

I never heard of Bemidji Woolen Mills before. I remember Rick Santorum's vests, though.
