There is a moment when Biden inexplicably says good luck out loud. Someone in his earpiece wished him good luck and he just repeated it. He was fed all his lines via earpiece.

I read it as he was being sarcastic, that he would not be able to speak for two minutes without interruption.
As bad as the debate was, Joe’s “good luck” comment is an honest tongue-in-cheek response to Wallace’s comment “... have two minutes uninterrupted.” I re-watched the debate. Personally, I don’t know how you could make the conclusion that he had an earpiece. A disjointed cadence of speech would have been more evident.
