I’m sure thats true, but I don’t think we can rest on Russia’s say-so, even if only for the sake of optics. Actually, I trust Russia more than I do FBI at this point, but still...
Isn’t the fact that it actually happened enough? It was just after this, within a week or so, that their allegations started.

That’s not all the letter says. It also says Hillary briefed CIA Director Brennan on a plan cooked up by her advisers to tar Trump with this hoax, and that Brennan informed the Obama White House... and that FBI Director Comey and Agent Strzok were informed.
Comey testifies before the Senate tomorrow. Let’s see if he’s still willing to show up. If he does, what’s the over/under on how many “I don’t recall” answers he gives.
