As the left brags about how much Joe Biden paid in taxes, they missed one important question
Paying more in taxes means often correlates with making more in revenue. Just how much revenue does Joe Biden make?
Following yesterday’s NY Times bombshell (that is actually a nothingburger) about President Trump’s questionably acquired tax returns, one of the big focus points is how much the President paid over the years in income tax. They’re playing on the ignorance of the American people who do not understand how taxes, depreciation, and real estate investing work at that level, but nevertheless it makes for a great talking point. On Twitter, many are making a big deal about the notion that President Trump paid $750 in 2016 and 2017 while bragging that Joe Biden paid much, much more.
Federal income taxes paid in 2017 (jointly with spouse):
Joe Biden - $3,742,974
Kamala Harris - $516,469
Bernie Sanders $343,882
Elizabeth Warren $268,484

Regarding what Trump paid, it is important to note that tax avoidance is not the same as tax evasion. Tax avoidance is perfectly legal, and if his tax preparers didn’t get his tax liability down to the minimum as prescribed by law, Trump should find tax preparers who can.

In sophisticated real estate development and ownership, a lot of income is offset by expenses and depreciation and held in subsidiaries, partnerships and trusts, with wealth accumulated and reinvested instead of being taken as income. And when personal income is taken, it too is usually timed and offset by losses. These maneuvers are legal but bewildering to the general public.
Trump went into public office as a wealthy man, and since being in office his wealth has declined.
Every single democrat went into office relatively poor and left office with massive wealth.
This is perfect. The left will be wasting their time with this.

It’s the only question worth asking. Why is Joe so recently rich after leaving office? What about his family?
Besides money laundering via foundations, book deals and social causes, how much comes straight from overseas? What about the 3.5 Million bucks Hunter got from the widow of the Mayor of Moscow, who got filthy rich owning a plastics company that got a lot of government contracts when Hubby was Mayor?

Here’s more questions:
Did Hunter pay taxes on all those $$$ from China, Russia, Ukraine, Romania, and others ?, and
did the Biden’s family Report and file taxes on all those gift money ?,
also did Hunter disclose this information to the Family Court regarding child support ?

You are exactly right. Trump will have to needlessly waste time defending the pre-packaged headline “Billionaire Trump only paid $750 in taxes”.
It doesn’t matter what Trump says ... the headline has already been written.
