You mean like a cheap shot from me advising you to not buy the watch from the Times Square guy in the raincoat? It is not a genuine Rolex with diamonds for $200. Believe me.

So, true story.

30 years ago a friend gave me a Rolex. You know, the golden nugget looking kind.

Anyway, it quit working one day so I took it to the local Rolex dealer for repair.

He was very kind and gentle in letting me know it was fake.

He offered to put a battery in it .

Told him “Naw, and you can keep it. Thank you”

I was pretty embarrassed but, friend thought I knew it was a gag gift.

“FU!”

We laughed and had a few drinks.

Couple months later I got inspired and went back to that store and purchased a genuine Rolex Oyster Perpetual Stainless

Went to a bar with the same friend and we picked up u girls to come back to his place and continue with the party

My friend jumped in the hot tub fully clothed with his shark skin jacket, ostrich boots and his Rolex.

I laughed and said I couldn’t believe he jumped in with his Rolex.

He responded “It’s genuine and a professional yachting watch! If anything happens to it in a hot tub that’s Rolex’s problem “

And the night got funnier from then on...
