Joe Rogan World Vs. NPR World
theamericanconservative.com ^ | Rod Dreher

Yesterday when I drove up to the country to visit my mother, I listened to NPR until I couldn’t take it anymore. There was a story about black Mormons. Normally I would have found that compelling, given my interest in religion. The Mormon religion used to be formally racist, but changed its teaching. What is it like to live as a black Mormon? That’s a story that interests me. Or normally would, but I swear, I turned off the radio. Why?

It had nothing to do with the black Mormons. It had to do with NPR. I thought: they’re only interested in Mormons so they can find some new way to talk about American racism.

It feels like every time I get in the car and turn on the radio, I don’t have to wait long before I hear a story that highlights in some new way what a racist country America is, or how hard illegal immigrants have it in America, or how put-upon sexual minorities are, and so forth.

*snip*

I switched over to Spotify to listen to Joe Rogan’s September 17 podcast episode with Douglas Murray, on the advice of a friend. It was excellent! Murray is more conservative than Rogan, but still, he’s a gay secular Briton, and Rogan is a pro-drug, pro-gay marriage, comedian and MMA commentator who has some conservative beliefs (or at least instincts), but who, above all, seems curious about the world.

Everyone should read the book “Republican like me” by the former CEO (who happens to be black) of NPR. It tells about how mystified he was that Trump won and how he couldn't believe how stupid people must be to vote for Trump. It just didn't make sense to him. So he took the better part of a year after retirement and traveled the US. He mingled with people that he never would have. He went hog hunting, did BBQ, attended evangelical church services and youth retreats. In short he got out of his liberal bubble and was amazed at the people he met and how strong and appealing their beliefs and values were. In the end the life long uber-liberal realized he really identified with the Republican party.

It is a book that I give to a lot of my latte-liberal friends. They really don't like the message, but it does make them think, at least the ones that are capable of thinking.

I quit hearing NPR in the 00s. Mostly tuned into PRI’s THis American LIfe and Garrison Kellior. But Kellior began to attack Republicans, he later was accused of harrasment and fired. And I didn’t like NPR as it was biased.
JOe ROgan I found on Newsradio, Phil Hartman’s sitcom, and learned he was stand up comedian. Later he hosted Fear Factor and did UFC commentating. Because of the popularity of Alex Jones on his podcast began watching it. He certainly made a huge mistake going to Spotify.

I broke down and bought an antennae for my TV and all I get are PBS stations. I about puke when they give their so called unbiased news reports. What does one think when PBS hires the spin offs from CNN? The left leaning bias on PBS is deafening. If it weren't for some of the other programming there wouldn't be any benefit for PBS..defund the communist bastards.
