It is a bit strange that the media hasn’t encourage all to take vitamins, especially vitamin C.
Seems to make better sense to encourage people to do this, than useless mask wearing.
For people between 55 and 69, the survival rate is 99.5%. It is higher for younger people. It is virtually not a threat to kill the vast, vast majority of the public, and anyone can improve their odds of survival significantly by having high levels of Vitamin D3 and taking a good multivitamin. You can get 5,000 IU D3 capsules at Sam’s or Costco for about $0.05/pill, and if you take one per day for a few weeks with a meal containing fat (to aid in absorption), you will boost your levels significantly.
Who needs this when you should just shut up and wear your mask.
It’s called BEER.
It’s not a great protocol and the doctor is a pharm D as it appears. I think the macro life should be ivermectin as there is better support for it.
I think a prophylaxis should be ivemectin vit D zinc and budosenide spray.
HCQ can be used instead of ivermectin but is probably not as effective.

I wonder if it has to do with really sick people in hospital who would likely die if nothing is done.

I don't believe that's true. I recall that there were four studies usually touted, and two of them were debunked. The other two were not actually independent studies but rather came from the same group of physicians. The selection of patients dictated the results.
Just the other day I saw another article from outside the U.S. proclaiming the effectiveness of the HCQ/azithromicin/zinc cocktail.

Your body needs high levels of Vitamin D to fight off covid and other viruses. Whether introduced via D2 or D3 is not a factor at that point.
