Halloween 3 is hardly a sequel. It oddly has nothing to do with any of the other other Halloween movies. If I remember correctly, there is one scene where there is a television in the background and the original Halloween movie is playing on the TV. That is the only reference to any of the events or characters in the other movies.
I believe the idea was to turn the franchise into an anthology of of horror stories that were unrelated to each other. Then that was obviously abandoned.
With all of that said, it was a terrible movie and I wouldnt recommend it at all. But it is a curious thing.

That’s why I said it would suck even more than a sequel - just rips off the name. That’s a fine how do ya do. Like I sez, the fraud would have me trashing the theatre!
