House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., now says she’s not considering a fresh round of impeachment charges against President Trump as a tool to delay a Supreme Court confirmation vote.
“I don’t think he’s worth the trouble at this point,” she told reporters Thursday, which also marked the one-year anniversary of the speaker announcing the first impeachment inquiry.

This was just pandering from the outset. Nancy knows any “impeachment” would have zero impact on the Senate’s confirmation deliberations of Trump’s SCOTUS nominee. I’d expect McConnell would treat any such sham with the contempt it would deserve and summarily reject it.
That doesn't even qualify as a decent excuse and it beggars at being a lame excuse.

oops ... she just ejected the only arrow in her quiver to “stop” Trump from filling the empty seat on SCOTUS before the election ... guess her internal polling told her Trump was right when Trump said the Dems would lose in November if she attempted impeachment ... actually, her REAL poll was probably among the House Dem membership and she found she didn’t have the votes because the House Dems are running scared ...
