Fox News host Mark Levin disputed the notion the novel coronavirus killed 200,000 people in the U.S., referring to the grim figure from health officials as the biggest lie this century.
The conservative commentator rejected the death toll during Wednesdays episode of his syndicated radio program and podcast fresh on the heels of having interviewed President Trump on his Fox show days earlier.
Weve hit they say an ominous number, ladies and gentlemen. Two hundred thousand people have died from the coronavirus. That is the biggest lie this century, he told listeners of The Mark Levin Show.
Two hundred thousand people died who may have had the coronavirus, but less than 10,000 died from and only from the coronavirus, asserted Mr. Levin, a conservative commentator lauded often by Mr. Trump.

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, previously explained the 6% refers to people who had nothing else but just COVID when they died from the disease.
That does not mean someone with hypertension or diabetes, who dies of COVID, didnt die of COVID-19 they did, Dr. Fauci said when those reports first circulated last month at the death toll was at 180,000.
The number of people to die in the U.S. from COVID-19 surpassed 200,000 this week, according to Johns Hopkins University. Close to 2% of the nations population has tested positive for the virus since January.
The idea of 200,000 deaths is really very sobering, and in some respects, stunning, Dr. Fauci told CNN this week.

Thanks for the graphs.
He did say something really stupid there, didn’t he. He probably meant “died WITH COVID”, which is the entire problem.
The count definitely is not counted the way flu is counted, so while it is “accurate” it has no real meaning.
We have no idea if 200,000 people dying while infected with COVID is a sign of problems or not.
I have to wonder about Florida. Over 200 yesterday and 172 today! Haven’t heard anything from the governor disputing these numbers. If accurate they show Florida as the one state not in control of its COVID deaths. And really the state, somewhat with California and Texas, as the main driver of deaths in the USA.
You could be right and I still concede 200,000 is a nothing burger. 600,000 die each year from heart disease. If we were talking about 2 million dead THEN I would concede it is a serious pandemic and measures in place are justified.
The century is only one-fifth over.
No you won’t. I’ve read European reports that say the same thing and that the pandemic was over several months ago, and that the lockdowns were just prolonging the infections that would have happened anyway.
