Every day that I hear whining from the Left about the Judicial Process, it is like waking up each morning to the sound of beautiful birds and the wind sighing through the trees, coming softly to my ears through the open windows!
I lay in bed, hear those sounds, and my face is composed into a gentle smile of contentment and enjoyment.
When Harry Reid and his fellow Leftists employed the Nuclear Option to remove the filibuster (with the full and unequivocal approval of President Obama and all the Leftists in the media and academia) changed the rules, he threw down the gauntlet, square into the faces of conservatives who were, after that change, on the ground, powerless.
They did it with spite.
They did it with malice.
They did it with glee.
They were enjoying the rank exercise of power over the helpless.
I took the time this morning to go back to a 2013 Washington Post article discussing the historic change, and the comments following the article were priceless.
Priceless.
The Leftists providing commentary were piping in as if they had finally driven a stake through the political chests of conservatives. They were so full of contempt and enjoyment at this turn of events, they were exulting in it. They spoke as if it were the end of the Conservative movement in America, specifically the hated “Tea Party”.
Now, they are screaming like scalded cats at the unfairness of it, and it is like music to my ears.
Here is the difference between Leftists and Conservatives: First, Leftists are astonished and shocked that Conservatives would fight back and play under the same rules that THEY THEMSELVES created. McConnell told them they would live to regret it, and many Conservatives said much the same thing. But they were too busy doing a 1941 Paris Jig to comprehend that, perhaps they might not hold power forever. Conservatives understand this all too well, that we know we won’t hold power forever.
But it is encouraging that we understand now that if we play by the rules where we are supposed to lay down and let them trample us, they will gleefully do it to no gain on our part. So people like McConnell and other Senators who had it shoved in the face, decided that if shoving was going to occur, it might as well not just be one way.
So yes. How I enjoy their caterwauling. Every day I hear it, I smile with satisfaction at their discomfiture, anguish, and emotional pain.
And knowing that they did it to themselves makes it all the more enjoyable.
Antonin Scalia, not so much.

No worries. We will have Ginsberg’s replacement confirmed by Halloween (scary!). Replacement to be sworn in on Monday, Nov 2.
