Is it required to have a committee hearing before the Senate votes? The Constitution says the President nominates then the Senate votes on confirmation.

Just call the vote. Problem solved.
Isn’t that an “arrow in our quiver,” as Pegrossi would say?

WTF government do we have?

The Founders would string up or imprison most of them.

Skip the hearing and go straight to the floor for the vote. There is nothing in the Constitution requiring a hearing. It is just a Senate rule that came into being many years after the birth of the nation. A hearing was probably added for some particular reason which went away afterwards, but the rule didn’t. The rule Hearing rule can go away now as it is not needed.

Sounds like a good deal. Skip all hearings. Vote up or down on everything. Leave them out of it all.

The Turtle should move Chuck You’s office to the back of the EOB.

Right next to the Janitor’s Closet.

Why are Democrat scum even permitted to participate in matters that only require majority vote.

It’s like negotiating with 4 year olds having a temper tantrum.

4 year old screeching evil howler monkeys, that is.

They should be excluded from all Senate business that does not require their presence. Act like infants. Be treated like infants.

Democrats bring nothing of value to the table.

I don’t really believe that the Constitution allows one Senator the power to close down Senate proceedings all by himself. It that were the case, nothing would ever get done.

So we do what the Democrats have sworn to do whenever they control the Senate: Change the rules.

Easy solution

If the nominee has already been vetted by the senate for current judgeship then go straight to floor vote

Just skip the committee altogether. Amy was vetted already. Just bring the nomination to the floor.
