The Charismatic movement in the Church peaked in the 70’s and 80’s, and was never more than a fairly small minority in most places, but the Church is big enough that “small minority” can number in the millions in the U.S. and tens of millions world wide.
many Catholics also belong to the Charismatic Renewal - where praying in tongues is practiced. from what I remember there is no prohibition against those practices of the renewal like tongues or prophesy for the Catholics that participate.
Trump is a pragmatist and will (probably) not pick ACB. Speaking in tongues, her 8 kids, and her anti-abortion stance all poll terribly. Don’t shoot the messenger.
I used to watch the wonderful Mother Superior Angelica on EWTV. More than once I listened as she told of how she was filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues, just as the Bible teaches.
