We are at the twilight of civil society and peaceful transitions of power. Plan and prepare accordingly. Yes, I believe they look back at their effort during the last transition as weak and bumbling. The problem they face now, though, is they've got stupid people still running things. Doesn't mean they're not dangerous, but they will screw it up again.
