Trump winning in November is important... Picking Ginsburg’s replacement who will sit for the next 15 to 20 years on the bench is even more important... If the SCOTUS goes liberal, life as you know it will come to an end in the US and you’ll just become another socialist state similar to Canada or the UK.

He should explain how it works to Collins. Piss off the GOP base, lose by 20. Support the party, and maybe lose some independents, but maybe gain more, and you also get more Republicans out to the polls on your behalf. Voting like a democrat won’t get you elected.

I don’t think Romney is in the Senate to be reelected. He ran to accomplish one task—help his handlers get rid of Donald Trump. If he can be the difference in defeating a justice who would help Trump in election-related litigation, then he will do it. If his vote doesn’t matter, then he will vote to confirm.
