While I like reloading as a hobby, it just got to the point that the communist surplus ammo was just too inexpensive to resist, even if I had to be sure to completely clean the rifles after each shooting and make sure the steel cases didn't beat up the chamber, extractor or ejectors.
I have no fear of ever running out of ammo. I have given a way a lot along with the rifles and handguns they feed to my two sons to keep at their houses. My family is well set for whatever may happen.
Back before the pandemic clamped down, I found an online supply of Berdan rifle primers and ordered a bunch. I have years worth of empty 7.62 NATO brass that I couldn't bear to leave on the range (I usually use a brass catcher with semi-autos; I hate chasing brass). All once-fired military brass, mostly Hirtenberger and Radway Green. My winter project will be hydraulic de-capping and case prep; I have several loads worked up on Lake City brass that should work as well in Berdan cases.
Waste not, want not. :-)
