I think a week is adequate time to make a nomination. Friday will be the one week since RGB's death but I'm betting on a Saturday morning event at the WH - which would have a large audience.
Do we even know the Dems are not going to turn that funeral into another George Floyd type funeral, dragged over several weeks and milked by the Dems for every political advantage they can get? The Dems have a very long history of doing that, from the Wellstone funeral to the Ted Kennedy funeral.
