Yep.
In Sweden, with about 6,000 deaths claimed to be caused by the chi-com virus, over a 1,000 were over 90, an other 1,500 over 80, another 2,500 over 70 and LESS THAN 80 WERE UNDER FIFTY YEARS OF AGE.
Old people, like me, die more often than young people from a virus.
Who knew?

Look don’t act disingenuously.
And I don’t mean anything personal, it’s just an observation.
And post 2 is now removed for some reason.
Should they be wearing a mask?
In my Post #2, I cited Sweden’s cases per 100,000 inhabitants compared to the rest of Europe today. I also cited the country’s deaths per 100,000 inhabitants.
I also states that the way Swedens strategy was viewed outside the country seems to depend largely on WHAT STAGE of the pandemic the observer was experiencing at the time.
I also observed that in April, Sweden’s deaths were HIGHER even as the rest of Europe was experiencing FALLING deaths.
I then said that today, Europe is experiencing fears of a second wave even as reporters in other European countries are traveling to Stockholm to ask about its success.
I also mentioned HARD QUESTIONS that Swedish authorities themselves were asking as to why Sweden experienced the large number of deaths it did.
Where in my post, which for did I act disingenuously? Those are FACTS. There’s nothing “liberal” or panicky in what I wrote.
“They also tend to spend a lot of time outdoors.”
Thanks. I didn’t know that. I’ve heard the homeless have faired pretty well with C19. They’re out doors a lot too. So, I wonder if any of these articles on Sweden will figure this out or will we have to wait for the history books to report it.
I can see the chapter title now. People could have saved themselves by getting some sun or taking vitamin D3 but put on face masks instead.
It is disingenuous to pretend you do not know you are presenting the be scared side of the coin.
And why is number 2 removed?
The comments in the last paragraph as I recall instigated my comment - which I do not understand why you chafe at it and present a disingenuous and rather specious cross-examination.
If you don’t think you are a fear monger in this, just say so and explain why not.
Here is my last paragraph:
Did authorities wait too long to limit access to nursing homes, where about half of the deaths occurred? Were they too slow to provide personal protective equipment to staff in those homes when shortcomings in the elderly care sector had long been known? Why did it take so long to set up wide-scale testing?
Aren’t those VALID questions to ask? What makes the mere ASKING of those questions “liberal” or “chicken little”?
These same questions ought to be asked even in the state where I live... unless you are suggesting that these are unnecessary. If so, we part ways.
Those are relevant questions only if you think Sweden was wrong in their approach.
I said you disingenuous in not recognizing your position manifest in the questions is on the fear-danger Sweden was wrong side of the coin.
I never said that Sweden was on the wrong side of the coin. I do recognize that they have experienced MORE DEATHS than their neighboring Scandinavian countries. Whether it is from their no lock down policies or from the lateness of their responses, we NEED to ask these questions in order to learn from them. Your use of the words liberal and chicken little is out of place.
You only present questions of Sweden’s lockdown policies as relevant questions, which amounts to a priori conclusion.
What other factors could be the reason for differences in death rate among Norway, Sweden and Finland?
Nobody in the media is talking about Sweden, it’s as if it doesn’t exist. To them, COVID is “over”.
This is all political now and those still stoking fear to maintain control are tyrants, it is now criminal.
RE: You only present questions of Swedens lockdown policies as relevant questions, which amounts to a priori conclusion.
And given that their deaths are higher than their neighbors, why would they not be relevant ? I would not be asking those questions if Swedens death rate was lower than her neighbors.
Your response also seems to implicitly conclude that Swedens policies are superior to say, Norway or Finland, which, given the death rates, I am not ready to conclude.
TRhe question of other factors are relevant ones and relate to the original questions I posted.
But back to your original post, why is asking those questions in on of itself liberal or chicken little? Those are relevant questions that need to be answered.

You misread this. I did not say lockdown policies were not relevant. I said you present lockdown policy as the only factor to consider.
There are myriad other factors to consider.
RE: There are myriad other factors to consider
Yes, and if you bothered to re-read what I wrote, I listed some of them, like early testing, protecting the weak and elderly, use of PPE, even, where the country is in the pandemic curve. etc.
So, how does citing these factors make me liberal or even chicken little?
“Yes, and if you bothered to re-read what I wrote, I listed some of them, like early testing, protecting the weak and elderly, use of PPE, even, where the country is in the pandemic curve. etc.”
No those are the same factor, subset topics of it.
Different potential factors would be
What is the instance of international travel, both continental and intercontinental to Sweden compared to Finland and Norway?
Also what are the local urban differences among the three nations?
RE: What is the instance of international travel, both continental and intercontinental to Sweden compared to Finland and Norway?
I can tell you that traveling was STOPPED in at least two major airports in Sweden — Stockholm and Gotenberg because I work as a software developer and Dev Ops for one of the world’s major airport product suppliers and my colleagues who work there told me so. It was “Like a desert” were the words I read in their messages.
Still, I was asking questions, not making conclusions as to whether Sweden has the better COVID-19 policy compared to the others in Scandinavia. Your calling me a liberal and chicken little simply because I ask is preposterous in light of this and I must call you out on it.
RE: Also what are the local urban differences among the three nations?
You see what you’re doing? ASKING QUESTIONS, just like I did. The difference between you and me is this, I understand that asking questions and not coming to premature conclusions is the key to understanding the pandemic.
I don’t try to read into a person’s motives on that basis like you do.
OK, I was replying to the wrong post; sorry
