Let them waste the time and money while the Senate approves his pick and appoints her.
I believe Nancy’s ploy is that the House quickly votes a new article of impeachment and this time swiftly delivers it to the Senate. As I remember it, all other Senate business must stop to hold the trial. The dems will then demand so much time to prosecute their case thus running out the clock on President Trump’s first term.

Yeah, I think that’s what the thinking is... which is what the left, the media, and neverTrumpers have been trying to do to Trump for more than 4 years now. Throw sand in the gears, sugar in the gas tank... basically anything they can do to gum up the works and prevent Trump from being able to govern effectively.
What’s more amazing is that even with all of that Trump has been able to accomplish so much. Makes me wonder what he could truly accomplish if he didn’t have all that manufactured resistance against him.

You remember it wrong. The Senate can decline to act on the impeachment.
