For the quickest possible confirmation of a conservative to the USSC, perhaps Trump should nominate Ted Cruz, who he just added fo his list a few days ago.

Cruz is a well-known figure already to the public and to his Senate colleagues. Of course, the Dems are going to fight the nominee no matter who it is, but I think this puts Trump in the best position to get the seat filled by a solid conservative Constitutionalist.

That would be true, technically a Judicial committee hearing would not be required if a Senator is nominated to the court.

Cruz ran for president knowing full well he was not a natural born citizen. Personal ambition got in the way of his dedication to the constiution. He lied about not knowing he had dual Canadian/US citizenship and his actual citizenship status is murky. He is NOT a NBC and should have not run.

NEVER for SCOTUS. He’s a good senator, he needs to stay right where he is.

After the ‘new’ list was published, Ted Cruz stated on one of the fox's shows, he does NOT want to be on the Supreme Court ... He intends to stay ‘political’’’ I think he still thinks he can be president some day...

People not paying attention to the ‘real’ Ted Cruz, do not realized that Ted Cruz is not at all what he purports to be... Think the libtards, after the last circus for a Supreme, would NOT ask Ted about his Tuesday evenings, ‘Oh, Mandy’, $5 hundred thousand big to iCarly campaign ... After all that hashing, having Larry Tribe testify about how Harvard Ted, made a name for himself, purporting to be for ‘original’ intend of our Constitution ... and then ran for the office of president... Cruz confirmation hearings would make the Thomas hearing look like toddlers playing.
