The Party Of Panic

The latest contrived issue to bedevil the left is President Trump’s statement to Bob Woodward in March that he was downplaying the virus to avert panic. Leftists have interpreted this attempt to avert panic as a “lie,” even though they have never shown any ability to discern truth from lies in the past. So this week, the leftists are betting their chips on the Woodward book.

Missing from this discussion is any description of the events of March 2020. We all had good reason to want to stop the panic at that time. As news of the virus began to dominate public discussion, the left did its best to create panic and oppose solutions each step of the way.

Beginning in March, consumers hoarded many grocery items that had nothing to do with the virus. Toilet paper, soup, pasta, bread, and even meat products often disappeared from the shelves. One could visit supermarkets for weeks without finding toilet paper, while the other items disappeared more sporadically. There was no good reason for these items to disappear, as the virus had nothing to do with them and hoarding them would not prevent infection. Yet they disappeared anyway. Social media was filled with images of empty supermarket shelves all over the country.

We were told that the virus somehow threatened the food supply. But despite the dire warnings, staple items gradually began to remain on the shelves long enough for most of us actually to see and buy them.

On television, we were treated daily to images of hospitals that reporters described as “war zones.” We would learn that at least one network passed off film showing foreign hospitals to represent chaos at American hospitals. Additional temporary hospitals were rushed into service.

It's understandable that the panic was overblown, and the democrats were the main cause of it, but...

Like in any natural crisis, production of many items will be reduced, as happened back in March, so, hoarding is understandable, as many people did not want to be caught without many of those essentials if production were to be cut or shut down altogether.

Evil is the ultimate stupidity. No wonder the Party of Hate, Racism, and Evil is in panic before the Greatest President in US History armed with towering intelligence, truth, justice, and prayer and on the side of the angels!

They've succeeded in getting a lot of people to be afraid of the weather. That's despite the fact that EF-3 and higher tornadoes are becoming less frequent. Despite the fact that hurricane numbers are flat (despite turning every 40 mph breeze as a named tropical storm). Floods are flat.

Weather damage, from all causes including fire, is down worldwide to a trivial 0.2% of GDP. Meanwhile damage from earthquakes, volcanoes and nonweather hazards is a flat percentage of GDP.

Like the Democrats' Super Tuesday primary in the first week of March?

Imagine their howls of "Trump is interfering with their election" or "Trump is scaring Democrats from the polls" right after Republicans acquitted him of impeachment in the Senate.

Democrats would have called it "proof" that President Trump was colluding with foreign governments if he suggested anything that might keep voters away from the polls in early March.

I think the cancellation of sporting events in March and the subsequent WFH situations that arose did more to instill panic in the public than anything else.

And I'd say the cancellation of sports probably did more to panic folks than anything else. Because up until blm/antifa infiltrated sports most Americans idolized sports in a manner bordering on worship of sports.

Cancelling March Madness sent shock waves through the country more than we realize.

Add to that the nightly news broadcasts basically saying we're all gonna die didn't do anything to alleviate the fears.

I guess RBG’s passing has ‘nudged’ Bullet Bob Woodward off the front pages for a while. He will be little remembered in about a week...All of the oxygen will have been sucked out of the atmosphere...

What do you mean the rats Super Tuesday primary in the first week in March?

Tennessee is always one of the states that participates in the first super primary election in March, and you have to always tell them for which party you want to vote for? Where do you get that Idea from? You can only do that in the general election in November.

BTW I only vote Republican period. I never, and have never voted for a rat.

What do you mean the rats Super Tuesday primary in the first week in March?

Did you forget your recent history? I posted this several times back in April:

remind people what was going on in February...

The Democrat Primaries!

Democrats and the MSM were anxious about Bernie Sanders' momentum. People were curious to see how Michael Bloomberg's money presence would change the balance of enthusiasm. People wondered whether Joe Biden would drop out or if his South Carolina "firewall" would work.

Doesn't anybody remember:

Does anybody seriously believe the MSM and Democrats wouldn't have screamed foul and accused President Trump of tampering with the Democrat primary if he even remotely suggested shutting down the country in February?

Too many Democrat power interests were in play in February to shut anything down!

Would any of those candidates sat still and let President Trump shut down campaign rallies over the Coronavirus in February while the debates and primary races were still going on?

Of course not!

We need to rub this fact into EVERYONE'S faces every time someone suggests that President Trump should have acted sooner to combat the virus.

Coming off of an impeachment trial where President Trump was accused of abusing power to influence his reelection, anything he might have done after his acquittal in February that could be twisted into a charge that he was tampering with the Democrats' primary would have been treated as the "smoking gun" to force him out of office.

Super Tuesday on March 3, 2020, included the following Democrat primaries:

  1. Alabama (Winner: Biden)
  2. American Samoa (Bloomberg)
  3. Arkansas (Biden)
  4. California (Sanders)
  5. Colorado (Sanders)
  6. Massachusetts (Biden)
  7. Maine (Biden)
  8. Minnesota (Biden)
  9. North Carolina (Biden)
  10. Oklahoma (Biden)
  11. Tennessee (Biden)
  12. Texas (Biden)
  13. Utah (Sanders)
  14. Vermont (Sanders)
  15. Virginia (Biden)

Klobuchar and Buttigieg surprisingly dropped out the day before and endorsed Biden, in order to keep Sanders from running away with the nomination.

During the period of time that the Democrats are accusing President Trump of downplaying or not taking seriously the virus, they were all on the campaign trail, attending rallies, participating in debates, and getting ready for the big primary day.

What do YOU think they would have said if President Trump was thought to be interfering with this over the Coronavirus that they weren't yet taking seriously?

Thanks. I've been shouting this since April.

There is no way the Democrats would have allowed President Trump to use the Coronavirus to keep people from their primaries in February and March.

Once Super Tuesday was over and Biden had it all locked up, then the Democrats began to take it seriously.

Now they are engaging in revisionist history, sweeping their whole primary season under the rug and blaming Trump for not acting.

It's crazy.
