I know there are many other examples of such echo chambers, but NPR is the only one that I am forced at gunpoint to fund.

Colleges tend to be that way. Even the nuttiest of ideas can be seen as normal and the most normal of ideas can seen extreme. When they leave that safe cocoon of crazy, they are shocked to find their ideas don’t make sense to people or they look hypocritical. Like when you are fighting against the Patriarchy but the Patriarchy is paying for school.
