This must have been an archival image as the Fayetteville, NC, weather is good for today’s rally.
.NEAR TERM /THROUGH TONIGHT/...
As of 1040 AM Saturday...
Canadian high pressure will strengthen as it builds east from the
Great Lakes toward New England through the weekend. KGSO RAOB this
morning shows just a slither of low-level moisture trapped
underneath a strong mid-level cap, resulting in a broken stratocu
cloud layer over western NC. Elsewhere, regional RAOBS also an
extensive cirrus cloud shield, in association with the subtropical
jet that extends SW to NE from the GOM to the southern mid-Atlantic
region. Thus, expect milky sunshine today with very cool
temperatures, by mid/late September standards as highs today average
12 to 15 degrees below normal. Highs ranging from lower 60s north
to around 70 south.
