If she is saying Election Day and not the inauguration, that's tantamount to saying she will vote for Trump's nominee in mid-November even if Joe Biden wins. It's total spin to not make herself look hypocritical on the GOP's Garland stance while potentially voting for the next Supreme Court pick anyway.
Voting after the election at least sounds more rational than waiting until after the inauguration.
Consider the timeline for confirmation. It is late September now.
There will be an understandably short period of official mourning while officialdom sends RGB off.
Say PDJT sends his selection off to the Senate on 1 Oct 2020.
The Senate does have to vette (sp) the nominee (while also trying to campaign), set the schedule for and actually hold the hearings (perhaps multiple rounds). Even expedited, what 3 weeks? Then the confirmation vote. Last week of October? Seriously? Immediately after the election? A week or two after more likely.
That is probably the earliest using a somewhat reasonable timeline.
So Murkowsky saying not voting until after the election isn’t too far away from reality.
