Truthfully, any president would do so. What do they have to lose? Good way to stir up the base. Reaching across the aisle to Democrats in a conciliatory manner gets you very few points form anyone. And the Democrats will just double cross you first chance they get.

Depends on who the President is. I feel certain that Romney and other RINOs would defer to the “Loyal Opposition” under the present circumstances.

i hope Trump makes a nomination. but i think it will stir up the dems base more than the republicans. nominating a woman would help with the undecided suburban women i would hope. and if he could find a real conservative minority woman he could nominate, that might be a plus as well with some voters.
