Murkowski and Romney are not up for re-election.

No way Collins, who is up for re-election and trailing, will support this.

There are eight gop-e sinators up for re-election who are in very tight races IF we believe the polls.

I don't see any of them supporting a new judge.

I disagree. Republicans are currently losing. They need a game changer, so does Trump quite frankly. I think all concerned rather change the subject to a partisan bare knuckles brawl than the coronavirus over the next 50 days. Any republican running a race right now needs the nomination fight.

Let Romney, Collins and Murkowski go. . 50-50 lets Pence decide. Mitch just has to keep graham in line. Shouldn’t be too hard since he needs every republican vote for re election. This can be done!

No way Collins, who is up for re-election and trailing, will support this.

If she holds off, the Left will then have an incentive to replace her with a Democrat in order to oppose a Trump nominee. That is, it will energize turnout against her. If she votes, there won't be that incentive other than maybe retribution.
