If the President tries to ram through a replacement with only six weeks to go to the election, I think it would backfire bigly on him with the American public. Better to wait till he is reelected. This will motivate both sides to get out the vote.
“If the President tries to ram through a replacement with only six weeks to go to the election, I think it would backfire bigly on him with the American public.”
Well, it won’t be Trump ramming the replacement through, it will be the Senate. There’s nothing wrong with Trump quickly nominating someone.
On the other hand, the Senate could go on “formal recess” and let Trump temporarily fill the seat - and that may be more palatable to both the RINOs and the middle of the electorate.
No!!! You could not be more wrong! Pushing a nominee through will energize the base and completely demoralize the Dems. They will be able to focus on nothing else. This will also be a test of whether the GOP Senate is worth its salt. Balls to the walls boys! This is the big one! Make us proud!
This is the October surpise in September. The timing could not be more perfect! Thanks Ruth. Maybe in death you will be able to accomplish something worthwhile.
Trump and the current senate have 3 more months in office. Plenty of time to confirm a nominee.
Remember, the Democrats rammed though ObamaCare in a “lame duck” session after an election.
I voted for judges, and I want judges!
ram it through tomorrow and then go piss on Ginsburgs grave.
Not the Trump-supporting public. Trump voters understand the shenanigans of the democrats are pushing this nation into chaos and collapse. and that we need a constitution-abiding supreme court. The democrats will hate this but so what, they are not going to vote for Trump anyway.
“... I think it would backfire bigly on him...”
HELL NO, it won’t.
Most American voters don’t even know that we have a supreme court or care who they are.
ONLY politically involved voters care. NONE of them are voting for Trump ANYWAY!
