California Doesn’t Need to Burn: Gov. Newsom blames climate change for the raging wildfires, but there are far simpler ways to address this latest crisis.

California’s leaders have a knack for taking bold, headline-grabbing stances on important issues – then ignoring the mundane reasons that things aren’t going so well. They rail against soaring poverty rates, but don’t mention that their regulatory policies drive up the cost of living and make it difficult for companies to create jobs. They complain about California’s struggling education system, yet never challenge the teachers’ unions that make it nearly impossible to reform our schools.

And so, as wildfires rage across the West Coast, California Gov. Gavin Newsom has placed the blame squarely on global warming, as he noted that “climate change is real and that is exacerbating this.” Not to be outdone, Oregon Gov. Kate Brown said the current disaster “is a wake-up call for all of us that we have got to do everything in our power to tackle climate change.”

Apparently, we need only give these governors more power to control the economy in ways designed to change the trajectory of the world’s climate and we’ll be ready to tackle next year’s wildfire season. Never mind that Newsom and his predecessors have failed to take simple, tangible steps to deal with the wildfire situation whatever the broader climate is doing.

Despite the Oregon governor’s words, these officials aren’t doing everything in their power – not even close – to control fires that have ravaged millions of acres and taken more than two dozen lives.

The main issue involves land management. Newsom gave a nod to that problem. His focus, however, was not on nuts-and-bolts governance, but climate change. “That’s one point, but it’s not the point,” he said. By the way, California has passed some of the most far-reaching climate-change-battling policies in the world, and yet here we are, facing another fire season

The main reason for California fires is arson.

Demon-rats are so deranged that they call ARSON climate change.
They are also using this climate change story to protect their Antifa/BLM pawns who obviously went so crazy with Molotov cocktails that they burned up Oregon. THEN dipshit Gov Brown calls off the pawns——poooooof! The riots stop.
Kate Brown was not welcome to say the least when she went to visit the town her pawns burned down. The sheriff and fire fighters dissed her. ANd with good reason. If they tell the truth about the Antifa/BLM arsons, she puts them on leave or forces them to retire.

What we really need is to stop numbskulls from being allowed to vote. Repeal the 19th, for openers.

Or at the very least, raise the voting age to 35.

I know it will do no good, but I wrote Toomey and Casey pleading with them to sue Newsome, Oregone and Washington State to make them liable for the haze the last week from the smoke they fomented from their voters.

speaking of Newsom, his latest ploy to destroy California’s middle class is ‘air quality’ quarantine. Inhaling smoke causes covid, he says, and is equivalent to ‘smoking 20 packs of cigarettes’. (not sure if that’s per day or per fire) While he’s taken to calling wildfires, ‘climate fires’, he’s yet to explain why California has double the fires as this time last year when the drought ended 2 years ago.

“Far Simpler Ways”?

saying “Climate Change” does NOTHING to address it.

Actually enacting EVERY CLIMATE CHANGE POLICY that has been put forth would not address it.

The “claim” is that “climate change” has led us to where we have outrageous fires.

But no climate change policies put forward are even SUGGESTED to “turn back the clock” on climate change. The best they hope for is to slow or stop things from what they say is “getting worse”.

So, if 10 years ago, we had adopted Kyoto, the climate in California today would be exactly like it is today, and the fires would be there.

If he is arguing that 30 years from now, they will be worse, and that we can keep it from getting THAT MUCH worse, at least it might be an argument. As it is, they are simply using the words “CLimate Change” as a substitute for actually doing something to save lives and property.

Did you see how Newsome was all excited when he was standing before the orange haze of the wildfires? He didn’t stop smiling and his eyes were glowing with excitement. If I didn’t know better I would say that he was getting off on the fire just like an arsonist. He looked like Nero just after burning down Rome.
