The reviews are in for the CNN town hall featuring Joe Biden... and they aren't great.
While Biden's performance has received praise for his ability to display empathy towards Pennsylvania voters selected to ask questions, what has been described as the "softball" treatment of the former VP by CNN was widely panned on Thursday night, especially following the grilling President Trump faced at the ABC News town hall on Tuesday.
"In the first moments, the contrast between what Trump was asked and what Biden is being asked is striking," Politico columnist Jeff Greenfield tweeted, later writing. "Biden is doing very well, yes. But this is not exactly getting him ready to face tough questions from a Chris Wallace or Jake Tapper (should he decide to do so)."

In a fair debate both candidates should be asked basically the same questions.
Did they forget that the debate moderator is Chris Wallace, a hard core Trump hater? He’ll make it plenty easy for Biden. For Trump? Not so much.

Biden getting teleprompters and softballs all this time is like a guy playing tee ball and then coming up against Trump he’s all of a sudden facing Nolan Ryan.. If Trump plays this right it won’t be pretty.. he has to let Biden look lost all by himself without him looking like a bully..
if Trump comes at him with facts and figures comparing his record of accomplishments to Biden’s hideous record Biden will say “look” and then will hesitate to try to figure out what to say and then he’s lost.. and it will be downhill from there.. Trump needs to work with experts who know how to trigger Biden without looking like he’s ganging up on him ala what Jose Ferrer did to Captain Queeg..
