Nearly 20 percent of millennials and Gen Z in New York believe Jews caused the Holocaust, according to a new survey released Wednesday.
The findings come from the first-ever 50-state survey on the Holocaust knowledge of American millennials and Gen Z, which was commissioned by the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.
For instance, although there were more than 40,000 camps and ghettos during World War II, 58 percent of respondents in New York cannot name a single one.
Additionally, 60 percent of respondents in New York do not know that 6 million Jews were killed during the Holocaust.
The results are both shocking and saddening and they underscore why we must act now while Holocaust survivors are still with us to voice their stories, said Gideon Taylor, president of the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany.

They probably dont know basic facts about World War II either.
I recall a photo of Himmler at one of the camps but of course he would be no surprise. His car was a BMW IIRC.
this is pathetic... when I was in school, this was taught and taught well, at least in Texas.
wow they could make an awesome movie out of that story!
Also why Obama got away with calling them “Polish Death Camps.”
Himmler tossed his cookies while viewing an execution by firing squad. Which is why he determined that gassing would be more humane....for the Germans.
This is an excellent movie to show just how “Business-Like” the planning of the Final Solution was.

IMHO much better than “Conspiracy”.
They arent rewriting it...they are just leaving it out.
I live in a town that is 30% Jewish. My kids would tell you that the schools spent too much time on it. I told them when someone wants to kill you, your family, and everyone like youand they almost doit leaves an impression.
In “War and Remembrance” they portray a sequence where Himmler tours Auschwitz including viewing a “Special Action” from start to finish. The scenes are not for the squeamish.
I knew a guy that is of Lithuanian(?) decent. Of course now I forget his first name - but it was very odd and ethnic even though he and his parents iirc were born in America.
He does Lithuanian folk dance, cooks native meals, etc.
I asked him if he would name his kids with a Lithuanian name and he said yes.
I told him that is pretty impressive to have the culture passed down through so many generations - but he was also fully American in speech and values.
“Yeah - most Lithuanians make a big deal out of our culture. We, and our culture almost got wiped out. We vowed to never let that happen.”
He should have visited Alameda, CA before its Lithuanian restaurant closed July 31 this summer.

Like the Russians/Soviets making everyone speak Russian, for example.
Recently saw "Ashes in the Snow." Very intense movie about Lithuanians sent to Siberia by the Soviets during WWII.
It reminds me of the lie put out there that George Soros is a Holocaust survivor. A survivor isn’t quite the same thing as a participant.
Geddy Lee said his grandmother and 3(?) of the daughters, including his mom, were together in the camp. Every so often the Nazi’s would line up a large group of the Jews and have them count off by twos. And half of that group would go off to the gas chambers.
His grandmother would always line the family up with a stranger in between each member. “We are all going to be together - if we live or if we die, but together.”
Yup, that's it in a nut shell. Pfft.
I believe you are correct.
