Here in California, we buy a replacement box and pay for mounting it in our semi rural area. Everyone buys their mailbox and installs it by the road. There is no door delivery in our area.
We have lived in our home for 40 years and our 4th mailbox, that we or family members have paid for, will need to be replaced soon.
Now I feel elderly, if she’s “middle-aged”!
