In scathing remarks criticizing his own staff, Attorney General William Barr said Wednesday that the Justice Department has recently acted "more like a trade association for federal prosecutors than the administrator of a fair system of justice" and equated some prosecutors to preschoolers and "headhunters."

You don't have a civil service sinecure.
"Preschoolers and headhunters." (Groan) must be Obama holdovers still hanging onto their govt perks, pensions, and paychecks.
Hewitt fakes liking Trump because he knows that his show would tank otherwise, but he’s as Neo-Con RINO as you can get. The only thing Hewitt care about is if the navy gets its next-generation, shiny new submarine.
exactly. This guy is a bum.
Just cut their 29 Billion dollar annual budget. They layoff those that fail to cooperate.
Hewitt watched his buddy Michael Medved get canceled by the Salem Network because he wouldn’t shut-up with the NeverTrumpism. He’s doing what he has to do to remain on the air.
The morning after the Access Hollywood story broke Hewitt was declaring Trump DOA. “He’ll have to quit the race, what will the Republicans ever do? blah blah blah...”
Yep. Looks like hes throwing out red meat so people cut him enough slack to allow him to run out the clock on actually doing something serious. A cynical liar. Surprised he didnt come from the FBI.
Does he know hes the AG? Or is the new theory that not only is the AG no longer needing to execute the presidents orders, but local US attorneys are also independent from him?
Professor Barr rarely misses a chance to give another lecture.
But Barr is a smooth criminal hack, talking a good game while doing exactly the opposite of good AGing.
That is why I like trump. I don’t care what he says, I care what he does. And he does plenty. I used to get so ticked at politicians saying they were going to do this or that and, for some reason, they never actually did it.
Then one day, Trump simply moved the embassy to Jerusalem. And the fallout was comical. That was actually the event that turned me around on the guy. Other republicans gave it lip service but did NOTHING. He simply did it.
Barr is looking to be more of a politics as usual sort of guy, but I’ll withhold judgement until after the election. Either he is timing this precisely, or he’s jut another political windbag. By election day we’ll know.
Bingo. He’s all talk.
Even worse. He’s CIA.
If Reagan could fire all the flight controllers for striking Barr can fire a few Jr marxists in the DOJ.
He was just being honest.
Trump missed the boat on that back in 2016, probably because he was listening to some GOPe advisors who told him not to rock the boat.
*************
Yep, one of the biggest mistakes of his presidency but one that he’ll hopefully have a chance to soon rectify. He also needs to immediately start laying the foundation for a new political party that represents conservatives. The GOP is never, ever going to be the party that we so desperately need.
Trump nominated 86 of the nation's 93 US Attornies and 84 of them have been confirmed.
Between them and Redfield, if Barr's right I'm questioning DJT's ability to judge talent.
it is indeed pretty much impossible to fire a Federal employee
****************
It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than it is to remove a federal employee.
I agree with you.
Trump didn’t realize the corruption is so deep and widespread.
I used to think my tinfoil hat was too tight. Now I think I should have made it out of non-Newtonian material and fitted it with cannons...
Trey Gowdy was definitely a windbag who talked tough but did nothing.
I hope Barr is different.
But I have no evidence with which to undergird that hope.
“Trump didnt realize the corruption is so deep and widespread.”
Well, I think he was thinking this was just like any other business he took over, he could just root out a few bad apples and tweak a few things while 99% of the organization was running smoothly and didn’t need to be touched. But market forces punish corruption in business so the problem is usually limited, while government is protected from market corrections so the problem will spread to every nook and cranny if left unchecked.
Maybe hard to fire, but could they be reassigned to a less impactful position?
