Tanker-thanks. it gets to my point. He’s going to collect a paycheck for 3 more years and poke us in the eye in the meantime. In his world he’s safe. In our world it’s another one that got past us. Eternal vigilance. That’s the price of freedom.
Lots of people claim today to be Reagan Republicans that really weren't back in the day. Remember 1976 when Reagan had to take on the Ford/Rockefeller Republicans and narrowly lost? Or in 1980, when that wing of the Party ran a third party candidate against Reagan? Or how about David Stockman, who claimed to be a supply-side Reaganite to get a powerful position in the Administration and it turned out to be just a facade?
It wasn't easy to be a Reaganite in those days. The press despised him, although they were not nearly as bad back then as they are now.
