Coronavirus cases continued to grow over the weekend in nearly a dozen U.S. states as Dr. Anthony Fauci, the nation’s leading infectious disease expert, warns about the nation’s worrying level of new infections.
Covid-19 cases were growing by 5% or more, based on a weekly average to smooth out daily reporting, in 11 states as of Sunday, according to a CNBC analysis of data collected by Johns Hopkins University, an increase from eight states on Friday.
The states were Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Wisconsin and Wyoming. Wisconsin hit a record high in its average of daily new cases, reporting 1,353 new infections, a roughly 32% increase from a week ago, the Hopkins data shows. Kansas and Montana both hit record highs for new deaths.

In Houston they are tallying May and June cases as “new” cases. They make up over 80% of September’s “new” cases.

I hate to get personal, but is he enjoying being in the limelight? But then, he can only stay in the limelight as long as he’s a voice of gloom and doom. Once the virus crisis is over, he goes back to being an anonymous public health bureaucrat.
Looked at Worldometer yesterday evening and saw that Florida, Georgia, and Texas numbers continue to level off and drop and are nowhere near the rise that took place in the early to mid July period. And the friendly neighbourhood media doesn’t seem to be talking about that either.
And 95% of those cases are asymtomatic.
Aren't all deaths "new" deaths?
The Boy who cried wolf, daily. Someone should tell him that people are moving on from his daily apocalyptic warnings.
Who cares how many new cases we have? We are testing everyone and their dog. An asymptomatic person is not a case! How many hospitalizations do we have? How many long term hospitalizations? How many deaths?
You do not track cases unless you are trying to track herd immunity. Quite simply, they are using new cases to enforce their lockdowns. Flatten the curve? Done and dusted. You cannot lock us all down until their are zero new cases, this is ludicrous.
Infection rate = testing.
Tell us what the increase in HOSPITALIZATIONS are.
That’s what all of the d@mn shut down was about, after all.

I read elsewhere that the flu is killing more Americans currently than china virus. Why aren't we hearing about that?
From what I understand this is because over 80% are immune and over 90% have a false positive because they have a low level of the virus; not enough to take hold and/or their immune system is strong enough to fight it off.

Florida, Texas and Arizona had their spike and now they’re way down. Pretty much flattened.
Yes, look at hospitalizations and deaths. Do we have enough hospital beds-yes. Open us back up all the way.
Cases not deaths. They now just talk about cases.
Big surprise. College students. Most of whom have no symptoms. The rest still feel well enough to get drunk and end up in strange beds.
