I guess it means I am 100% wrong. The military men do love nation building and want more of it, and are completely against troop draw downs from the middle east.

With six combat tours behind me and a total of a year at the military language institute in Cali learning to speak Farsi and a couple of years with the Kurds I think I fully understand that no one hates war as much as a warrior who has spent too much of their life getting shot at.
Uhhh no, not everyone wants to be in some SW Asian S**thole for a year or so, not even worth it, I was hoping this mentality on FR would be dead by now.
