South Dakota’s attorney general, Jason Ravnsborg, was involved in a car crash that left one person dead on Saturday night, Gov. Kristi Noem said on Sunday evening, adding that the authorities were investigating the crash.

“Last night at about 10:30 p.m. in Hyde County, the attorney general was involved in a crash while driving on U.S. Highway 14 just west of Highmore,” Ms. Noem said in a brief news conference. “There was a fatality, and law enforcement is working on identifying the deceased and notifying the family.”

I hope he wasn’t running a stop sign and hitting a guy on a motorcycle.

Wondering if he contacted the Kennedys for advice on how to properly handle.

From what I read, he might be truly innocent. If it was on the open highway, he thought he hit a deer, wasn’t drunk.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out.

Looks like he hit and killed a pedestrian.

Jim Boeheim didn’t do any time.

We’ll see how this goes.

“If it was on the open highway, he thought he hit a deer, wasn’t drunk.”

But officer, how can you say that deer wasn’t drunk?

The wording makes the AG look guilty as hell.
Circling the wagons ahead of the news cycle.
He hit and killed someone walking on the side of the road and says “I thought I hit a deer”...
Bet he was drunk.

What I found odd is, the guy who was walking to his damaged truck in the dark, had hit a hay bale in a ditch, damaging his truck. If he couldn’t stay out of driving in a ditch, is it possible that he wasn’t paying much attention as he walked along a dark, lonely road?

Was there an Indian reservation nearby?

We have quite of few of these type accidents around in Wapato and Toppenish nearby the Yakama Nation. Drunks walking along the freeway and on back country roads.

If a Ford Taurus hits a standing adult make at a high rate of speed, the autopsy and damage to the car will tell the tale.

If the vic was prone on the road for some reason and struck, ditto.

If the vic was already dead, well, that opens up a while new can of worms.

In any case, I dont know how a driver with properly functioning headlights that are turned on hits a pedestrian and thinks it’s a deer.

Supposedly, in Boeheim’s case, there was a broken down care in the middle of the road, wich no lights, and he hit the person who had exited the car wearing dark clothes.

The wording seems like standard investigative stuff. At least he didn’t run from the scene after surfacing from the water....uh..errr wrong story!

Can’t reach the article on my phone. Since party affiliation wasn’t in the first 25 words can we assume he is a Democrat?

I know. But I still think Boeheim was an idiot to be out that night. Not that the dead guy was any smarter.

My late, dear dad-in-law bagged more deer with his cars than every hunter I know. Somehow Dad managed to escape without injury every time. Not the case for the cars or the deer.
