October Surprises almost cost George W Bush the election in 2000, and Arnold Schwarzenegger the recall election in 2003.
The CBS News 60 Minutes forged Texas Air National Guard memos was supposed to be the October Surprise against Bush in 2004, but it was immediately found out.
