Conversely the Toronto Raptors just got bounced from the NBA bubble and a year ago I would have been a bit sad but now indifference rules.
They’ve had “Say No To Racism” for years.
Of course, in Europe, where fans throw bananas on the pitch at black players, they don’t seem to get the message.
Some of these English soccer teams started removing BLM signage after the Jew hating BLM platform stuff was reported months ago. They just started a new season in England and did not carry over the BLM uniform insignia.
I bet that didn't go over well with Tottenham Hotspurs' "Yid Army".
It is confusing what or who "Premier Soccer League" is.
What took em so long? Defending the indefensible was a very poor choice.
Premiere League Football (soccer) is the most watched sports league in the world, broadcast to 643 million homes, and with a potential TV audience of 4.7 billion people. The NFL broadcasts to about 16.32 million viewers.
To be honest, I personally think that world soccer has dealt with political issues much better than most of US professional sports leagues have - at least recently.
Exactly, dfwgator. The US takes so much international cr*p for being racist, but we don't have the kind of anti-black racism that Europe does. I've been shocked at what happens there, and at some of the things I've heard from some Europeans.
America has been for many decades, a very accepting nation. There are places where that is an exception, but in my experience, a lot of those places follow the credo of "I'm not racist. I hate everyone.''. They're not racist as much as they are generally disgruntled.
Yep, that's what I suspect. Black players from outside of our North American insanity zone know that this is all a bunch of divisive bullshit that will do nothing but turn potential fans away. This sort of decision wouldn't have been made without a lot of negative feedback from black players.
Meanwhile in Eastern Europe
Way to go, coach. I am now a VPI fan.
I realize that its just amazing how fast they are distancing theselves from BLM!
Where is this, I may have a new team to root for!
Bratislava, Slovakia
Those where the days....
TY!
