It’s interesting only a remnant went up the mount.
The rest of the disciples were down on the ground fighting demons- and losing..
And the 6 vs 8 days could be a clue to time.
Luke’s account happens 2 days after Mathew and Mark’s.
There is also a day Moses comes down the mount with the 2 tables and his face shines.
That day may be the day that commemorates the Transfiguration.

That day of Moses coming down the mount , when his would have glowed, landed on August 30th this year.
The 11th day of the 6th month.
That may be why the scriptures say in Deuteronomy,that there is an 11 day journey from Horeb to Kadesh Barnea.
The discrepancy of 6vs8 days in Mathew/Mark and Luke could be looked at as 2,000 years(1 day is as 1,000 years,) in between Mathew/Mark’s version and Luke’s.
In Luke’s, it’s next day when Christ and the 3 remnant disciples come down the mount.
The Holy Spirit is giving hints to time in the scriptures.
Not only is Luke’s account 2 days ‘later’, they stay up on the mount the night, and come down the next day.
That is another discrepancy between Mathew/Mark vs Luke’s version.

If one had a choice, being on the mount with Moses, EliYah,Christ and His remnant of 3 disciples, is preferred to being the 9 of 12 disciples on the ground,fighting and losing to demons.
Only a remnant saw Him coming in His Kingdom on the mount before they tasted death.
Maybe there is a hint, and confirmation in there, of another remnant, 2 days later(2,000 years) that will experience the same.
No death and up on the mount.
While most of the disciples are fighting and losing against demons.
Until He comes back down for good.
