I suspect that had more to do with pragmatism than in actually viewing the concepts as morally wrong, since he wanted to make sure Communism still lasted longer than a decade, which it obviously can’t if people aren’t willing to breed. That’s also the main reason why I get irritated when people act like Putin can’t be a leftist or a communist just because he headed the Russian Orthodox Church or was banning the above, since Stalin did all of those and was most certainly a leftist/communist.
