Trump should have said: “I didn't lie, Fauci said I didn't mislead the public, Woodward says I didn't mislead the public. And now let me ask you - why did you lie about Russian collusion? Why did you lie about why the Paris cemetery visit was cancelled? Etc, Etc.”
