There's no evidence of fire more than about 1000 degrees in the deformed metal roofing which looks like corrugated aluminum. Burning cars will reach 1500 degrees (F) with no serious deformation of the steel. No evidence of high tempeartures than normal fire, e.g. no melted steel. Certainly not close enoiugh view to determine that anything other and wood and plastic burned.
The other poblem with the directed energy weapon theory is it needs too much energy to light even a single house, never mind a neighborhood. That energy doesn't exist in space. A few hundred MW continuous could do it. That would require a full size power plant in space. Doesn't exist. The closest I can find is 60 MW which is still too large to get into space.
The only scenario in which a space-based weapon makes sense is much lower power to set fires in grass. Do that in 100 places and they can easily burn a whole town. Even setting one grass fire would do it if they are willing to wait for it to spread and there is no firefighting response for that time.
It would be a lot easier and cheaper to send in drones with flammables on board or drive around and start fires.

Understand that it would be preferable that you be correct.
An unnerving issue is that removing one possibility here in no way precludes the other scenarios.
And unfortunately, this link below gives substance to the item you just mentioned.
Nice even rows of hotspots there.

“That’s a limitation of the detector. Satellite fire detection is very inexact and is actually being used to claim there’s more fire than there actually is.”

No - that line has only begun to be used since commentary on extremely regular dot lines in heat images has increased recently.
Many, if not most, heat signature dot lines are highly irregular. The extremely regular ones stand out like a sore thumb.
Not from VIIRS which is what you posted. They are all in grids. Interior Washington state: https://firms.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/map/#d:2020-09-12..2020-09-13;l:noaa20-viirs;@-121.7,44.8,13z

You forgot this part:
“The extremely regular ones stand out like a sore thumb.”
Yes, grids. The portions that are extremely regular dot grids.
Not natural.
Courage. I think these are the guys that were told by the Fire Chief that NO FLIGHTS WOULD BE ALLOWED. It was too dangerous. (”Sorry Chief!”)
A buddy of mine was a Fire Chief. Years ago he was telling me that once the Fire Chief arrived at a fire - HE was in charge of all the police, medics, etc.
I have no idea if the Chief would authority over the military or not!
