It is obvious that Trump had been planning his presidency for several decades.
He was a good friend to JFK Jr and had hopes that he could perhaps stand in the breech for him.
But then JFK Jr died under mysterious circumstances that also allowed Hillary to become a Senator...hmmm

If I were in President Trump’s shoes, I’d collect all the dirt that the office of the president would give me access to collecting. If I lost this election, everyone knowing the Dems cheat their butts off, I would release it all, but in drips and drabs so as to be sure to get maximum play out if it. Ruin some Dem careers, maybe a few lives.
