They try that same crap every year with the flu shot. My personal observation with the people at work is that over the past 6 or 6 years, none of the people that skipped the flu shot got sick and several of the people that did get the flu shot in the fall were sick with the flu when winter came. Granted, that’s not very scientific, just something I noticed with the people around me.
I think there’s lots of anecdotal evidence that people get sick after getting any sort of vaccination. To my way of thinking, the immune system has limited resources, and when it’s challenged those resources are diverted, hence not always available to fight other challenges. The extent to which this is so is probably dependent on the overall state of a person’s health and immune system, so it’s not a given. But it’s still a risk factor. Your body might be trying to fight a developing tumor when you assail it with a vaccine.
